Valentine’s Day is a day for love and romance… but what if you aren’t feeling the love? Try balancing your Heart Chakra.
The Heart Chakra is the fourth chakra energy center and is located in the chest, shoulders, and upper back region of the body. If you find your shoulders slumped, chin down, and arms falling forward, you probably also feel withdrawn, lonely, and unloved. Although you yearn for harmonious, loving relationships, you keep your distance for fear of being hurt. These can be symptoms of a closed or dysfunctional Heart Chakra.
So what is the cure for a Heart Chakra that is out of balance?
Therapy comes in many forms, from music to color, gemstones, essential oils, meditations, and yoga postures. Here are a few suggestions to get you started on your road to recovery.
Soothing classical or New Age music can bring you to a relaxed and open-heart state. I found this Heart Chakra Activation music selection on YouTube. There are others. Search for one that resonates with you.
While listening, move into a few basic yoga postures or breathing techniques. Backbends are also heart openers, so find one that works for your body.
Breathing can exhilarate or relax. Place your right hand on your stomach and breath in deeply through your nose. Feel the lungs fill and the stomach rise. Pause. Breathe out slowly through the mouth feeling the lungs empty and the diaphragm contract. Search the web for additional breathing techniques or pranayama.
